Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor My rating: 4 of 5 stars I really liked this book, original and different. The second half dragged a little for me. But over all the story was great. REALLY looking forward to the next book. Karou isn't a normal teenager, she is talent artist, speaks multiple languages and was raised by what we call "demons". She constantly feels like there is something missing and alone. Until she meets Akiva, a handsome yet deadly angel, a solider, and enemy. As the pieces fall into place and the secrets are reviled. Lover Revealed by J.R. Ward My rating: 4 of 5 stars I liked this book, it was a little slow starting for me because it had been so long since I had read the last book in the series. So as things happened or people came on the scene I would pause and start to remember bits on the previous books. I flip flopped so many times with Marissa. One minute I liked her the next I wanted to just glare at her. Same for Butch, he's not getting off the hook that easy. Both of them frustrated me over and over. But I still liked them both. Now Vishous on the other, hand he perked my interest. I can't wait to encounter more of him. View all my reviews

Point of Retreat by Colleen Hoover My rating: 5 of 5 stars This book was so butterflying good, yeah I needed to say that. I spent the past two days reading this book and Slammed , I am emotionally drained, but that's a good thing. I could go on about these books, about its characters, who are some of the best written and interesting characters I have had the pleasure to meet in long time. But I won't because this book, these books you just need to read for yourself. I have read many books in my life and I love many books, but there are only small handful of series/books that have left me feeling like this, like I don't know where to go, what to do next, and that's a good thing. All I can say is wow. I just have to say thank you Collen Hoover for writing these two wonderfully powerful books. View all my reviews

Slammed by Colleen Hoover My rating: 5 of 5 stars Trying to gather my thoughts to write this, it's hard to do with tears flowing down my over my cheeks. This book is unbelievably to good to be true. I just loved it. This book, it made me feel so much emotion. I've smiled, laughed, glared, swooned, and cried while reading this. Collen Hoover has written one of those rare books that hooks you and makes feel everything because the characters are written so well that you can not help but fall in love, feel their pain, and smile when they do. Black Unicorn by Tanith Lee My rating: 4 of 5 stars Yet another great book by Tanith Lee, this is the fourth book of hers that I have read, and I have yet to be disappointed. Black Unicorn is a story, about a young girl, Tanaquil, who is bored and lonely. She feels her mother, who is powerful sorceress, has no time for her. Her father she knows nothing of him, she has never known him. She can mend things, everything she fixes, never breaks. One day with the help of peeve,( cat like animal) she discovers a bunch of bones in the desert. Puts them together to discover it's a unicorn, which comes to life. Tanaquil seems to have this connection with it, or it to her. And chases after it one night, which is the start of her adventure. I could go on, and tell more, but I believe this book should be read and the reader should see the story for themselves. View all my reviews

Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut My rating: 4 of 5 stars Slaughterhouse-Five is a fantastic book. Dark, funny, intelligent, sad. Billy Pilgrim, the main character in this book is an American POW. We get to experience is life, some times a few times over as he travels through time and his life in the Tralfamadorians zoo. This has got me thinking, did Billy really time travel and were there really aliens. Perhaps these are the memories of a man who had survived Dresden. Perhaps, something snapped at some point, a result of the war, and as he is just remembering things in a mixed up ways. Perhaps after reading the books by Kilgore Trout, his memories of what happened and what he had read blended together over time. Or perhaps I'm just reading into it a differently because it's always fun to look at all angles. Perhaps, he did really travel and there really were aliens. And has been seeing his life in the past and the future, knowing that all these things will happen and not...
