What's a Ghoul to Do? by Victoria Laurie My rating: 4 of 5 stars If there's somethin' strange in your neighborhood Who ya gonna call (ghostbusters) If it's somethin' weird an it won't look good Who ya gonna call (ghostbusters) I mean M.J Halliday. That's right she's your resident psychic medium and ghostbuster. Sketchy (Bea Catcher Chronicles, #1) by Olivia Samms

Image
Sketchy by Olivia Samms My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars Warning spoilers ahead!! I devoured this book! From the opening right up until the very end my attention was held. Not once did I get bored, and when I had to take breaks I could not wait to get back to it. Bea, is a recovering addict. She's been clean for 3 months. It's a daily struggle for her, anyone who's had any from of addiction knows what it is like themselves. "So you don't use anymore?" she asks. I take a deep inhale. "No, haven't for three months." She pauses,"Nothing? Not even weed?" "Nothing." I exhale. "Is it hard?" "Hard?" I laugh." "You ever try to stop a semi truch coming at you full speed? Like every day? Every hour? Every minute? Yeah, it's hard, but better then where I was, I guess." I can't even imagine going to rehab at the age of 17. It's her time spent there that she discovers her special ability....

Beneath A Blood Red Moon (Vampire, #1) by Shannon Drake

Image
Beneath A Blood Red Moon by Shannon Drake My rating: 4 of 5 stars This book has been in my book case for YEARS!!!! Just never gotten around to reading it, like so many of my other books, especially the older ones. You know how it is, a new book comes out and you want to read them. It is very easy to tell that this book was written in the 90s. Not that this is a bad thing, it's the type of vampire novel that gotten me into the PNR. Something that I really liked was how both Countess Elizabeth Báthory and Jack the Ripper were both mentioned(both who I am very fascinated with), Jack more so but for reason I won't get into because I'm not in a use spoiler kind of mood. I will admit that this book did take me sometime to get into and I think it's because I have gotten to used to today's PNR books, that it just took me a moment to realized that this was one of the older ones. Once it had my attention I really enjoyed it, I liked how it went back and forth in modern tim...

Obsidian (Lux, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Image
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout My rating: 5 of 5 stars Fantastic! I was unsure how I was going to like Daemon because I liked Dawson so much in Shadows and well he wasn't the most pleasant person in it. And yes he's still acting like an asshat but I didn't mind it. It helped in the tension development between him and Katy. Which is always plus for me. As I read this I was literally laughing out loud, some of the digs where just great. So can't wait to read the next book. View all my reviews

Ward Against Death (Chronicles of a Reluctant Necromancer, #1) by Melanie Card

Image
Ward Against Death by Melanie Card My rating: 4 of 5 stars So this book, I liked it, I didn't love it. I did however really enjoy Ward, I like the shy, nerdy kind of guy who always comes through in the end. It's a nice change from the tough guy, alpha male in most novels. Another reason I think I enjoyed him as much as I did is because I kept on picturing Daniel Jackson (Stargate SG-1) as him, and I have a soft spot when it comes to him. Celia, I just wasn't feeling her, probably due to the fact she wasn't always the nicest to Ward and well I like him. View all my reviews

Grave Witch (Alex Craft, #1) by Kalayna Price

Image
Grave Witch by Kalayna Price My rating: 5 of 5 stars So wow Grave Witch, an urban fantasy with out vampires or werewolves. Kind of refreshing, not saying anything bad about the vampires and weres just nice to read something different. I really enjoy my urban fantasy's that involve magics, and this one is different then ones I have read before. A Grave Witch is what Alex Craft is, she has the ability to raise the dead, well a shade of their former self. Her clients tend to be people wanting to find out information on family history/ wills disputes etc. But she also works with the police/DA in murder cases, finding how they died and who killed them. Definitely have a new book crush to add to the ever growing list of fictional characters I'm getting giddy over, Falin. Oh my, love how he is so sure of himself, his cockiness, the eye brow arch, LOVE it!!! *Swoon* And then you have Death, who I can't wait to learn more about. I'm sensing he's going to be the romantic ...

Pleasure Unbound (Demonica, #1) by Larissa Ione

Image
Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione My rating: 4 of 5 stars 4 and 1/2 stars. I must explain why I never gave it full 5 stars. The start I wasn't really sure how much I was going to enjoy it. When Tayla was called a buffy, I thought it was cute. But I'm not going to lie after it was used a few times over it did get a tad annoying, hey I love buffy but it felt overused at the start. Which is something that was making me unsure about the book. Made me wonder if things were just going to be repeated over and over. Also I just wasn't feeling it, at one point I thought maybe I should put this aside and read it again at a later date, funny I know seeing how I devoured it once I got into it. Once I hit the 65 pageish mark I couldn't get enough of it. I would sit and get like 20 pages read before I would notice that I had. Glad I stuck with it because this book was fantastic and I'm looking forward to reading more of this series and the authors writing. View all my reviews...

The Vampire's Warden (Undead in Brown County, #1) by S.J. Wright

Image
The Vampire's Warden by S.J. Wright My rating: 3 of 5 stars I've given this a 3 star because the story is interesting and it has a lot of potential. I was debating 2 because it felt off to me/rushed/unanswered. After I read the bonus of the next book I'll see if I want to read the second, because I hate leaving things unanswered.
