Quite Contrary starts out with Mary going to a Halloween party in an old abandoned house. It is there that the hostess shows her party goers a crawl space she had discovered. And it is Mary's venture into said crawl space that we get to journey into this bizarrely dark and twisted tale. On her way through the crawl space she meets a rat, a rat who can speak. His name is Rat-in-boots even though he doesn't own any boots. At the end of the crawl space they end up in some kind of industrial part of town, Mary get's covered in some kind...

A Tale of Red Riding: Rise Of The Werewolf Huntress by Neo Edmund My rating: 4 of 5 stars Owoooooooo! Who's that I see walkin' in these woods? Why, it's Little Red Riding Hood. When I first settled down to read this book, Little Red Riding Hood by Sam the Sham and the Pharaohs, popped into my head. When you read the title and blurb you get an image in your head of what you think the tale is going to be about, now take that idea and remove it from your head. Expect the unexpected. What I thought this was going to be and what I read where two different things, and well that's not a bad thing. This could have went two ways, a flop because you have to be careful when working with something that is based on the fairytale or anything that's already in the public mind. The Selection by Kiera Cass My rating: 5 of 5 stars OMG I need book two NOW !!! Why are you not out yet!?!?! So going into this I knew there some controversy surrounding this book, all of which I didn't know completely until someone from one of my book groups filled me in (thanks Becca). I had saw all the not to nice reviews and 1 star's and I'm going to give it 5. After reading two back to back major tug at your emotions books, I needed something lighter. Something to entertain me. Which is what this book did. It's like a futuristic fairytale. America is a strong person, who is still herself through it all. She doesn't try to fake it, she doesn't go over board with all she is given during the selection process, the gowns, jewels and makeup. In the end she still wants to look and feel like her.
