Arcadia by Mandana Towhidy

Image
Arcadia by Mandana Towhidy My rating: 3 of 5 stars I was given a copy for an honest review! Arcadia is set in the 80s, it's main character is Ronnie, she's the smart and quite one in the lot. Each section or chapter is focusing on each of her friends. And what party or show they are going to or what guy they like at the time. We have big hair, wet N wild lip gloss, and metal!! I was kind of looking for more when I started this book because hello it's a book about the 80s and metal. As a lover of 80s metal I jumped at the chance to read this book. I loved that the author had video links through out, I loved the soundtrack. That was the great about this book. The not so great is well I found  went on a bit, too descriptive, and I like descriptions. Over all I did enjoy it. With that I leave you with: View all my reviews

Prophecy Girl by Faith McKay My rating: 3 of 5 stars ..Spoilers ahead.. *Copy given for an honest review* Sam is this supposed "Prophecy Girl", her dreams can give clues to future events. Her little sister Violet is what people have labeled a "puppet master" she prays/wishes for something and it happens. She is a key player in the events in this book. She can control things, the weather, actions, people. She can make someone do things against their will if she wanted. Their mother is trying to control her, and they pray together. Even though Violet doesn't always pray for what her mother wants her too. The mother is pure hate, she is a such an horrible person. She treats Sam like she is nothing but worthless trash, while using Violets "prayers" to help her out. Sam can not wait until she is eighteen years of age, then she is free of her. But the thing is Sam doesn't think she'll make it that far because her mother will probably kill ...
