Speak Easy (Speak Easy, #1) by Melanie Harlow

Image
Speak Easy by Melanie Harlow My rating: 4 of 5 stars I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review. Tiny wants more out of life, she works for her father bootlegging whiskey from Canada, and has to take care of her younger sisters. Something she's been doing ever since her mother passed away. She wants more, she wants to be a nurse and is saving up all her money for school. She's strong willed and isn't afraid to butt heads. She's the kind of leading lady that I enjoy. Enzo is sexy as they come and just as dangerous. He's a gangster and the son of a powerful mob boss. The same gang that is messing with Tiny's father. She knows that she shouldn't feel the attraction to him but sometimes you want what you can't have or what you know you shouldn't have. Joey has been a friend of the O'Mara family since childhood, he's grown up a lot since Tiny had seen him last and never did she think she would catch herself thinking about him in...

Only Scandal Will Do by Jenna Jaxon My rating: 4 of 5 stars Lady Katarina and her brother are attacked in their carriage. She is kidnapped and unknowingly brought to a brothel and put for auction. Up for sale for a night of pleasure, dark and twisted fantasies if the buyer is so inclined. After being out of the country for a year due to scandal towards his family, Duncan, Marquess of Dalbury comes back home to London. He needs to find a wife and produce an heir. Deciding to check out the brothel with his friend he is transfixed on a hidden beauty with red hair. Upon purchasing her for the night things don't go as he had hoped. I thought the story was great, both characters are enjoyable. Katarina is a spitfire, with some hidden talents up her sleeve. While Duncan, a rake who is smitten and is trying to win his way into Katarinas heart, and bed. View all my reviews

The Unknown (A Novel) by Linda Pendleton

The Unknown (A Novel) by Linda Pendleton My rating: 1 of 5 stars Well now that's done. 1.5 Stars I don't like to give bad reviews, I REALLY don't. People put their time and energy in the writing of their books, so I don't like to sound mean. I was happy to be finished this book, for me it just never did it. For someone else they might highly enjoy it. The funny thing is I found the concept interesting, but how it was presented to me well, not to lie, bored me. I had to add more: I never connected with the characters, I didn't like them. I'm sorry your kids and others have been kidnapped, lets start looking at each with potential feelings. Lets toss some romance into the book, which just felt awkward and out of place, and stop calling her "kiddo" Sorry all end rant!! View all my reviews

Abandoned Angel by Kayden Lee

Image
Abandoned Angel by Kayden Lee My rating: 4 of 5 stars Where do I begin. This book made me feel so many different emotions. From complete disgust and pure hate to breaking my heart. There were moments when I physically felt ill because of the abuse in this book, I was scared for Angelina and my heart ached for her. At times I would think why am I continuing, this is just too much. But I had to, I was on edge, Kayden Lee held my attention from the very start. I will definitely be checking out her other books once they are released. View all my reviews
