This Girl (Slammed, #3) by Colleen Hoover

Image
This Girl by Colleen Hoover My rating: 5 of 5 stars How do you put into words these feelings. I laughed... I cried... I fell in love... I took comfort... This Girl is book three of Colleen Hoovers Slammed series. It starts where Point of Retreat leaves off. Will and Lake are on their honeymoon, she wants to know how he felt during moments in their relationship. So she asks him to tell all, the good and the bad. We've all done this to a significant other at some point, "tell me what you thought/felt the first time we met/kiss/etc" It's a recapping of the events in Slammed . But it's HIS side of the story, his thoughts and feelings. Because every tale has two sides and in life we normally only get to witness the one. On top of seeing his view on their relationship, we get his story out side it and other key moments in his life..... we get to know Will. We get his turmoil, his inner war that takes place. We are given the chance to see his struggl...

Never Too Far (Too Far, #2) by Abbi Glines

Image
Never Too Far by Abbi Glines My rating: 4 of 5 stars Read on April 23, 2013 Never Too Far picks up just shortly after Fallen Too Far has left off. And I am so glad I waited to read them closer together. BUT NOW I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL LATE SUMMER FOR BOOK 3!!! Like the last book this one was just as frustrating and just as fantastic. A little more serious, a little more grown up. More secrets, more lies. So many times I thought "please don't be stupid, please don't fuck this up". I want to say a few things about the side characters. Bethy, has turned out to be a great friend for Blaire and I'm really happy  how things have turned out good for her. I hope to see more of her in future books. In Fallen Too Far I liked Grant, I thought he was really sweet he was the nice guy to Rush's bad boy image. I liked him more then I liked Woods, this time around I found it the opposite. I still think Grant is great, I was just happy to see a certain side of...

Fallen Too Far (Too Far, #1) by Abbi Glines

Image
Fallen Too Far by Abbi Glines My rating: 4 of 5 stars *Warning slight spoilers* Blaire is a 19 year old girl who has seen some real pain and loss. But she is strong and will not crumble, she will not let herself even if on the inside the ache is there.   She is all she has. After her mothers death, she has to sell her home in order to cover the medical bills that three years of treatment built up. The only family she has is her father, the father she hasn't seen or heard from since he walked out on her and her mother five years ago. Even when her momma was dying there was no word. With nothing but her old truck, 20 bucks to her name and a gun for protection she has no other choice then to turn to him. When she finally arrives what she gets isn't what she expected. Rush is a cocky sob with a sweet side, who has issues like all the bad boys in these new adult books. And I can not seem to get enough of them, I've always been attracted to that head tilt, grin, arched eyebrow,...

Surrender the Heart (Surrender to Destiny, #1) by M.L. Tyndall

Image
Surrender the Heart by M.L. Tyndall My rating: 4 of 5 stars Marianne needs to marry in order to receive her inheritance. Money that is so desperately needed for her mother and little sister. After the death of her father they were left with nothing, but an outsider could never tell. They hide it well. Being a little plump and a little plain Marianne doesn't really have a line of young men lining up to court her, so it all comes down to an arranged marriage between the families. She does not want to marry Noah Brenin. Noah isn't overly trilled about the prospect of marriage to Miss. Marianne Denton, something made obvious to her and everyone else when he walks out of their engagement party to set sail for South Hampton. Hoping that this trip will grant him more money then Miss. Denton's inheritance could provide therefore making marriage to her unnecessary. Deciding to give him a piece of her mind and get him to come back to the party she follows him down to his shi...

Gnome on the Range by Jennifer Zane

Gnome on the Range by Jennifer Zane My rating: 4 of 5 stars Going into this book I was thinking okay quick read that will be silly. *Points to cover, glances at title* And well I was correct. The amount of times I laughed and laughed I can't count, very very humors book. I even snorted, yep that's right I snorted and loudly might I add, because there was so many comical parts. "You got it stuck where?" I got a kick out of all the characters, Goldie especially. Oh and well can not leave out Ty, yummy fire man!!! What I didn't see coming was the nice little mystery involved. Jane, a mom of 2 and widow works at an "adult" store, owned by her mother-in-law, Goldie.. Doesn't have a whole lot of excitement going on in her life, until the day of the garage sale, the day her sons buy those two darn garden gnomes. 4 stars, because it did what it promise it would do and gave me a little bit more. A Hope Springs Christmas by Patricia Davids

Image
A Hope Springs Christmas by Patricia Davids My rating: 4 of 5 stars A Hope Springs Christmas is the the seventh book in the Brides of Amish County series. But works very well as a stand alone. Which is what it was for me. Sarah is a widow, and doesn't think she will ever find love again, in fact she doesn't want to. She's afraid to love again, afraid because to here it seems that everyone she loves is taken away from her too soon. Levi, a bachelor, to some believe he is destined to be an 'old boy'. Lives and works across the way from Sarah, renting out the place for a buggy business. He's always dreamed of leaving Hope Springs to go Colorado, but because of his promise to Jonas, Sarah late husband and his best friend he stays to make sure she is well looked after until she remarries. Sarah and Levi are tossed together more then normal as Grace, his sister, goes off to Pennsylvania to visit their Grandmother. While she is there helping out at the shop, Grace...

Undercover Professor by December Gephart

Undercover Professor by December Gephart My rating: 4 of 5 stars "Whatever I can get. Customer service, sales. But I’m really into World of Warcraft—type online gaming. That’s what my article is on. Do you game?" I knew I was going to give this book a little extra attention after I read that line, first thing I thought was "Nice a WOW mention." Player one:: Lucy Benoit, she is very hard working she has a full time job, goes to community collage and plays soccer with the girls on Monday nights. She's been hurt in the past, so because of that she has created rules for any potential male she meets, but what's the point of the rules if there isn't any "zing" Player two: Andy Sullivan, is jobless, staying with his mom, plays video games and doesn't meet ANY of of Lucy's rules. But there is ZING a plenty. Dr. Drew Sullivan, how ever does. But he unfortunately for both of them he can't tell her who he really is, she needs to think he...

Sunny Days for Sam by Jennifer Shirk

Image
Sunny Days for Sam by Jennifer Shirk My rating: 4 of 5 stars Sam, is a single father. His children, Emma and Cole, are his world even if doesn't always put them first. A busy man who has a business to run. Wanting to spend more time with his kids decides to take them to the coast for the summer. He doesn't trust easily, he's been used many times before and thinks that everyone is out for themselves, wanting what he can do for them and not him for himself. Sunny, as cheerful and sweet as her name suggests, will take any job she can to get by and pay off her debt, as well to save to go back to college. After her grandmother got sick, she left school to devote all her time and energy taking care of the one person who was both a mother and father to her. After her death she was left with a huge debt. She doesn't believe in asking for help, even though at a drop of hat she would go out of her way to help others. Still a believer in fairy tales and happily ever after. I fo...

Slammed by Colleen Hoover

Image
Slammed by Colleen Hoover My rating: 5 of 5 stars Trying to gather my thoughts to write this, it's hard to do with tears flowing down my over my cheeks. This book is unbelievably to good to be true. I just loved it. This book, it made me feel so much emotion. I've smiled, laughed, glared, swooned, and cried while reading this. Collen Hoover has written one of those rare books that hooks you and makes feel everything because the characters are written so well that you can not help but fall in love, feel their pain, and smile when they do. Definitely one of my top favorites of 2012. View all my reviews

Cherry On Top by Kathleen Long

Image
Cherry On Top by Kathleen Long My rating: 4 of 5 stars I don't normally read straight up contemporary romance, I really liked the humor and sense of mystery that was in this one. Loved the attraction and banter between Cherry and Luke. Gramps was a hoot and a half, I kept on picturing the Fraser's dad for his character. View all my reviews

Image
Outlander by Diana Gabaldon My rating: 4 of 5 stars I enjoyed the story but I found it to be a tad too long. I would have been perfectly happy to see the story end a little sooner then it did. Will I read the others? Not really sure, as I'm happy to see it as a stand alone. View all my reviews

Mine Till Midnight (The Hathaways, #1) by Lisa Kleypas

Image
Mine Till Midnight by Lisa Kleypas My rating: 5 of 5 stars This was a first time read for this author for me, an no way will it be a last. This book was fantastic, although frustrating at times. I wanted to yell at Amelia and tell her to just say yes gosh darn it. I did adore her though, her character was great. Christopher is a bastard who every time he appeared I hoped he would fall in a well. I really liked Cam, he was very mysterious. And I can't wait to find out more about him and what the connection is between him and Merripen. I know nothing of the next book but I do hope it continues where this one leaves off with Amelia and Cam. View all my reviews

The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks

Image
The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks My rating: 4 of 5 stars I knew when I started to read this that at some point I was going to need a box of tissues. It got to a point that I actually had to take a break from reading because my eyes were sore from crying, I was debating finishing it. Not because it wasn't a good book but because if I stopped Steve would not die, if I continued on and finished he would. I enjoyed this book even if it did start to emotionally drain me. Shy unsure of herself Jude Murry takes off from her life in Chicago to find herself, her destination Faerie Hill Cottage in Ireland. What she finds is good friends, tradition, family, love, romance, and most importantly who she really is. Jewels of the Sun is my first Nora Roberts book and I was not disappointed what so ever.
