I Can Has Books?

Alex by Adam J. Nicolai My rating: 4 of 5 stars *Warning slight spoilers* This was a emotionally hard book for me. I don't do well with books that involve children being hurt or dying. I still read them even if I know I'll have an ache in my heart. Ian has lost his child, his wife has moved out, his work is suffering and now it seems he is on the verge of losing his mind. Or is he?? His son was kidnapped and murdered, and while it seems like the world can pick up the pieces and try to move forward Ian can't, not yet. Ian has a battle going on in his head, one side is telling him, he is crazy and that it is just his grief projecting Alex around. The little bits of conversations being ones that had taken place when he was alive. Then there is that other side that arguing what if he really is there? What if Alex is coming back for a reason? Immortal Prophecy by Samantha Adams My rating: 3 of 5 stars *Given a copy for an honest review* 3.5 Stars Ally is the so called "prophecy girl", half immortal half human (which at first she doesn't know). The story opens 5 years in the past, Ally and her best friend Kat are going to see a fortune teller. She is told that she will have two men in her life, one James an immortal, her soul mate and protector and the other Vincent who is determent to kill her. Because she is suppose to be the one to stop him. She is also told she will know when it is all to start when two people in her life dies. The next day, it has begun. Immortals are beings that are here to protect humans from evil, the evil being vampires. Ally is meant rise up and lead them and defeat Vincent. I enjoyed the story, there is much potential for this series. War Memorial: A Short Story by Elisabeth Grace Foley My rating: 4 of 5 stars A sweet little story that takes place during the battle of Gettysburg and in 1946. The family is enjoying a nice evening together, when all of a sudden the power goes out. With this in the search for some matches they come across a little bullet in there grandmothers old box.
