I Can Has Books?

The Selection by Kiera Cass My rating: 5 of 5 stars OMG I need book two NOW !!! Why are you not out yet!?!?! So going into this I knew there some controversy surrounding this book, all of which I didn't know completely until someone from one of my book groups filled me in (thanks Becca). I had saw all the not to nice reviews and 1 star's and I'm going to give it 5. After reading two back to back major tug at your emotions books, I needed something lighter. Something to entertain me. Which is what this book did. It's like a futuristic fairytale. America is a strong person, who is still herself through it all. She doesn't try to fake it, she doesn't go over board with all she is given during the selection process, the gowns, jewels and makeup. In the end she still wants to look and feel like her. The Unknown (A Novel) by Linda Pendleton My rating: 1 of 5 stars Well now that's done. 1.5 Stars I don't like to give bad reviews, I REALLY don't. People put their time and energy in the writing of their books, so I don't like to sound mean. I was happy to be finished this book, for me it just never did it. For someone else they might highly enjoy it. The funny thing is I found the concept interesting, but how it was presented to me well, not to lie, bored me. I had to add more: I never connected with the characters, I didn't like them. I'm sorry your kids and others have been kidnapped, lets start looking at each with potential feelings. Lets toss some romance into the book, which just felt awkward and out of place, and stop calling her "kiddo" Sorry all end rant!! View all my reviews
