The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (Chronicles of Narnia, #2) by C.S. Lewis, Pauline Baynes (Illustrator)

Image
The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis My rating: 5 of 5 stars The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a great representation of childhood innocence. I can remember Narnia from my childhood, I can not recall if I read this book myself or had it told to me. I believe all children should step in the wardrobe at least once, and if you are a grown up child and haven't ventured in, it's never to late. You are never to old for fairy tales, you are never to old to believe in magic and magical places. View all my reviews

A Hathaway Wedding (The Hathaways, #2.5) by Lisa Kleypas

Image
A Hathaway Wedding by Lisa Kleypas My rating: 5 of 5 stars You misunderstand," Merripen interrupted quietly. "I'm not asking if we can negotiate, I'm informing you that we will I love Merripen. I have only one complaint, tooo short. I want MORE!!!! Oh Beatrix, I am so excited to read your story. "It's just that I can't help wishing to find someone who sees the world as I do. How silly and senseless all these rules are. Manners, corsets, gossip, asparagus forks...and heaven help me, polite conversation. If I can't talk about something real, I'd rather not talk at all." I have a feeling I'll be hugging Love in the Afternoon to my chest many times. View all my reviews

His Secret Duchess (Harlequin Historical #393) by Gayle Wilson

Image
His Secret Duchess by Gayle Wilson My rating: 3 of 5 stars 3.5 Stars I liked this book, you have long lost lovers reuniting, families becoming whole, a mad man who get's off on hurting people, revenge, attempted murder. Mary and Nick haven't seen each other since the afternoon Nick had to go off to battle. They laid together for the first time, the same afternoon privately vow themselves to each other in an old church, the register signed in his blood. With child and not hearing word from Nick, Mary goes to a family offering her child, she lives as the child governess. Many years later Nick, or should I say the Duke of Vail, hears a story about a Mary Winters who is on trial and with out protection, off he runs to save her. There is plenty to be said between those two, why there was no word and contact. And that they have a child together. A child Mary will do anything to get back from the mad man who has taken him to be his own. I had a longer/better review wrote but I am g...

Snowbound by M.G. Braden

Image
Snowbound by M.G. Braden My rating: 2 of 5 stars What the heck? That's it? Cassie is in a crappy long relationship with a major D-bag. It's always his way, finally she gets what she wants, a week trip at a ski lodge. They get in a big fight, before this she is stranded on the hills in nasty weather (he of course doesn't seem to concerned, because on top of being a d-bag he has a side of ass hat too). Why they fight is because the guy she skied into, Daniel, helped her down and they came into the lodge together. Mr. D-bag, or Rick as the author has named him breaks up with her and leaves her stranded at the lodge. Cassie and Dan become friends and spend time together, and they are running hot and cold. And really I can't say hot, more so lukewarm and cold. Both jumping to conclusions with out asking. And what the heck is with the end, it just ended. It wasn't for me. There was potential but in the end it didn't do it for me. View all my reviews

A Discovery of Witches (All Souls Trilogy, #1) by Deborah Harkness

Image
A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness My rating: 4 of 5 stars So this book was great. When I first started it felt a little slow, but I must confess when I started reading I was rather tried so that might have played a slight role in the slowness of the book. Hence the 4 stars rather then 5. I found the the information about alchemy fascinating, the whole story is so interesting. The descriptions of everything were perfect (to me at least). I can not wait to find out what happens next. I'm a excited and a little scared, not because the book is scary, I'm scared for Diana. And I want to know what Hamish meant, I want to know the secrets Matthew has yet to share. One of my favorite characters in the book, is not really character per say, the Bishop house. I love that it seems to have mind of it's own and secrets of it's own too. I like that the ghost of family members of years past live there still. I'm so looking forward to reading Shadow of Night . Amish Stud Arousal by Ruby Matthews

Image
Amish Stud Arousal by Ruby Matthews My rating: 1 of 5 stars From the moment I opened it and started reading I couldn't keep a straight face. There was much head shaking because this book is just so wrong and bad. It is written like someone was trying way too hard. Lol I don't think I can say anything good about it. Apparently there's a whole Amish Stud Collection, running out to read those, nope. I didn't even want to give it the one star. View all my reviews

My Favorite Mistake (My Favorite Mistake, #1) by Chelsea M. Cameron

Image
My Favorite Mistake by Chelsea M. Cameron My rating: 4 of 5 stars *So I had this big whole review wrote up and well poof it's gone. Taylor and Hunter are roommates along with two other girls, to him he has hit the jackpot. To Taylor she wants him gone now. She wants him gone before he even showed up, there has to be a mistake, he's well a he. And a cocky know it all who doesn't call her by her real name and well lucky for her it's her room he's sharing. They both have their secrets, they both push each other away when they seem to be heading in direction of them. They defect, the snap, they don't talk. When I first started reading this, Hunter and Taylor annoyed me. But as I continued reading they started to grow on me, especially Hunter. I love the banter between those two, to quote Renee (roommate) "You guys eye f**k each other every second you can". Makes me think of Def Leppards, When Love and Hate Collide View all my reviews

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green

Image
The Fault in Our Stars by John Green My rating: 5 of 5 stars Oh Mr. Green you are quickly becoming a favorite author of mine. I loved these characters, I became attached to them. I love Issac, I love Augustus, I loved what Hazel and him had. I love that it ended how I hoped it would. It was the right way to do it. As I was reading had a feeling how things were going to turn out, and when those things did happen. I bawled. I cried many times reading this book, but laughed much more. I can't properly review this book, like I do others. Where I talk about such and such and something that happened. Some books just leave me without words, even as I type many. "You gave me a forever within the numbered days, and I'm grateful". View all my reviews

Immortal Prophecy (The Immortal Prophecy Saga #1) by Samantha Adams

Image
Immortal Prophecy by Samantha Adams My rating: 3 of 5 stars *Given a copy for an honest review* 3.5 Stars Ally is the so called "prophecy girl", half immortal half human (which at first she doesn't know). The story opens 5 years in the past, Ally and her best friend Kat are going to see a fortune teller. She is told that she will have two men in her life, one James an immortal, her soul mate and protector and the other Vincent who is determent to kill her. Because she is suppose to be the one to stop him. She is also told she will know when it is all to start when two people in her life dies. The next day, it has begun. Immortals are beings that are here to protect humans from evil, the evil being vampires. Ally is meant rise up and lead them and defeat Vincent. I enjoyed the story, there is much potential for this series. Original ideas mixed with some things I've seen in other books, soul mate bond, eye change in lust etc. But it's pnr/uf so it's to be e...

The Selection (The Selection, #1) by Kiera Cass

Image
The Selection by Kiera Cass My rating: 5 of 5 stars OMG I need book two NOW !!! Why are you not out yet!?!?! So going into this I knew there some controversy surrounding this book, all of which I didn't know completely until someone from one of my book groups filled me in (thanks Becca). I had saw all the not to nice reviews and 1 star's and I'm going to give it 5. After reading two back to back major tug at your emotions books, I needed something lighter. Something to entertain me. Which is what this book did. It's like a futuristic fairytale. America is a strong person, who is still herself through it all. She doesn't try to fake it, she doesn't go over board with all she is given during the selection process, the gowns, jewels and makeup. In the end she still wants to look and feel like her. And is it wrong that every time I picture Prince Maxon this popped into my head: View all my reviews

Stained Glass Monsters (Eferum, #1) by Andrea K. Höst

Image
Stained Glass Monsters by Andrea K. Höst My rating: 4 of 5 stars 3.5-4 stars This was an interesting story, that was told from to main people, Rennyn and Kendall. Ren is on a quest to stop the Black Queens grand summoning from happening, something her family has been working on for generations. She had hoped to do it without being seen, with only the help from her brother. But things don't go as planed and she get's tangled up with others. Kendall, has the potential to be a mage, but doesn't really think she can do it. I like the story, I'll probably check out the next book. View all my reviews
