Hex Hall by Rachel Hawkins My rating: 4 of 5 stars This book was like Harry Potter meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer, well minus the vampire slaying. It's the wit of the characters that give me a Joss Whedon feel (which is fantabulus thing because I bow down to him for his my god). Life for Sophie has never been easy or normal. Raised by her human mother, never knowing her father who is a warlock by the way, has lived in more states then you can shake a stick at. Finally after the love spell gone crazy she's been sent to Hex Hall, a reform school for witches, shifters, and fairies. And if she thinks her life wasn't normal before things are just going to get more and more abnormal. And anything but easy. I really liked this book, a lot of twists that I never saw coming. Some mystery, a little bit of romance or more so heavy crushing. A lot of unanswered questions, but good unanswered questions. The Claiming Words by Tricia Drammeh My rating: 2 of 5 stars *Warning slight spoilers* First of all I would like to say thank you to Tricia Drammeh for this copy of The Claiming Words , given in exchange for an honest review. There is potential for this book, people will like it, but sad to say I was not one of them. Don't get me wrong I didn't hate it, there are parts I didn't mind, I like Bryce, I like Alisa. The Claiming Words is told from the point of view of two characters, Rachel and Alisa. When reading the two it felt like I was reading two different pieces of work. The Alisa chapters being enjoyable, with some amusing moments. But then when it came time for the Rachel ones there seemed to a switch. If felt different. I actually found myself wanting to flick faster through them to get them over with. Which I found rather funny as so much of the main story line revolves around her. Dead, Undead, or Somewhere in Between by J.A. Saare My rating: 5 of 5 stars Rhiannon is great, she has this take no shit attitude. Which is her mask, her wall so to speak. She has a lot hidden things in her past, she's gone through so much pain. At first I wasn't a fan of how she treated and acted around Disco, but as the story went on things changed, her trust grew. Her lack of trust is understandable based on her past and well because hello vampire. Speaking of Disco, hello new book boyfriend. Loved this book, great start to what I hope will be a fantastic series. And the ending, wow. Soooo can't wait to read the next book. View all my reviews

A Prescription for Delirium by Noree Cosper My rating: 4 of 5 stars What a fantastic fantastic book. Very dark and visual. I was completely engrossed in the story, the author has did a great job. Very well written. Gabriella is a demon hunter, and she can read the auras around not only people but places as well. She can see demons and apprehensions where others can't. She is cursed, she can't not die. She's been around for long long time, long enough to have promised to protect the family of the man she loved, the Van Helsings. The three remaining brothers are have their own special abilities. Together with help from others can she finally keep her promise and defeat the devil, and keep her mind at the same time. Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor My rating: 4 of 5 stars I really liked this book, original and different. The second half dragged a little for me. But over all the story was great. REALLY looking forward to the next book. Karou isn't a normal teenager, she is talent artist, speaks multiple languages and was raised by what we call "demons". She constantly feels like there is something missing and alone. Until she meets Akiva, a handsome yet deadly angel, a solider, and enemy. As the pieces fall into place and the secrets are reviled. Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione My rating: 4 of 5 stars 4 and 1/2 stars. I must explain why I never gave it full 5 stars. The start I wasn't really sure how much I was going to enjoy it. When Tayla was called a buffy, I thought it was cute. But I'm not going to lie after it was used a few times over it did get a tad annoying, hey I love buffy but it felt overused at the start. Which is something that was making me unsure about the book. Made me wonder if things were just going to be repeated over and over. Also I just wasn't feeling it, at one point I thought maybe I should put this aside and read it again at a later date, funny I know seeing how I devoured it once I got into it. Once I hit the 65 pageish mark I couldn't get enough of it. I would sit and get like 20 pages read before I would notice that I had. Glad I stuck with it because this book was fantastic and I'm looking forward to reading more of this series and the authors writing. View all my reviews...
