A Hope Springs Christmas by Patricia Davids

A Hope Springs Christmas by Patricia Davids My rating: 4 of 5 stars A Hope Springs Christmas is the the seventh book in the Brides of Amish County series. But works very well as a stand alone. Which is what it was for me. Sarah is a widow, and doesn't think she will ever find love again, in fact she doesn't want to. She's afraid to love again, afraid because to here it seems that everyone she loves is taken away from her too soon. Levi, a bachelor, to some believe he is destined to be an 'old boy'. Lives and works across the way from Sarah, renting out the place for a buggy business. He's always dreamed of leaving Hope Springs to go Colorado, but because of his promise to Jonas, Sarah late husband and his best friend he stays to make sure she is well looked after until she remarries. Sarah and Levi are tossed together more then normal as Grace, his sister, goes off to Pennsylvania to visit their Grandmother. While she is there helping out at the shop, Grace

Always Yours (Lagos Romance Series) by Somi Ekhasomhi

Always Yours by Somi Ekhasomhi My rating: 4 of 5 stars Sophie is hard working and runs her own magazine, Living Lagos. She's had one real heart break, something or rather someone who she has never really stopped loving, Michael Ade-Cole. She hasn't seen him in years. She couldn't bring herself to talk to him, not matter how much her tried to get in contact with her. All because of one little word, sorry. One little word read into the wrong way. Now Micheal is back in town, just has handsome but he's not alone. Always Yours is a very sweet and light romance. But not too fluffy. It's a book about heart break, moving on but never really, and misunderstanding. Things could have been a lot different, if sorry wasn't said, if another word/sentenced was said instead. We would be reading a different book. Looking forward to see if there is squeal involving Ada and Eddie I enjoyed the story, only real criticism I have would be the repeating of things. It didn't m

Beneath A Blood Red Moon (Vampire, #1) by Shannon Drake

Beneath A Blood Red Moon by Shannon Drake My rating: 4 of 5 stars This book has been in my book case for YEARS!!!! Just never gotten around to reading it, like so many of my other books, especially the older ones. You know how it is, a new book comes out and you want to read them. It is very easy to tell that this book was written in the 90s. Not that this is a bad thing, it's the type of vampire novel that gotten me into the PNR. Something that I really liked was how both Countess Elizabeth Báthory and Jack the Ripper were both mentioned(both who I am very fascinated with), Jack more so but for reason I won't get into because I'm not in a use spoiler kind of mood. I will admit that this book did take me sometime to get into and I think it's because I have gotten to used to today's PNR books, that it just took me a moment to realized that this was one of the older ones. Once it had my attention I really enjoyed it, I liked how it went back and forth in modern tim

I Kissed a Dog (Werewolves of the West, #1) by Carol Van Atta

Image
I Kissed a Dog by Carol Van Atta My rating: 4 of 5 stars Chloe Carpenter has a unique ability she can communicate with animals, not in words so much, but she can read the thoughts as a series of images. An ability that she doesn't really know the full extent off. Until one day she hears the thoughts of the very sexy, yet annoying (to her) newest co-worker. Dr. Zane Marshall is new to Plum City Wildlife Park who has his special ability, other then being the rescuer of Chloe, he is a werewolf. He's been sent there to check out the murders that have been taking place to young males between the ages 18 and 35. Thinking someone who he knows, but someone he doesn't want anything to do with, is the reason behind them all. There is so much promise for this series, but I won't lie there were parts that irked me. A little slow starting but once you get into it, it is very gripping with a nice little twist and a 'Wow I never saw that coming!' moment. The ending in parti

The Secret of Willow Lane by Virginia Rose Richter

Image
The Secret of Willow Lane by Virginia Rose Richter My rating: 4 of 5 stars Jessica is like a lot of kids growing up in the 80s, sending away for a detective kit, probably one that was clipped out of an Archie comic. And it couldn't come at better time, there are lights in the window in the old house across the street. No ones has lived in there since Mr.Johnson's death. So who is that man in the window? I think think this was a very good start to a children's mystery series. As a child I always enjoyed reading Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys and other detective books. Mystery is still one of my favorite genres today and I know that if I was to have read this as a child I would have really liked it. The writing is well done and easy for kids to understand, as an adult I was able to guess the outcome of events, but that didn't make the story any less enjoyable. View all my reviews

Accidentally Amish by Olivia Newport

Accidentally Amish by Olivia Newport My rating: 4 of 5 stars I'm am very grateful to be given the chance to review this book. Accidentally Amish takes place both in modern day and in 1700s. I think what really drew me to this was finding out that these people, who came across on the Charming Nancy were real. Not just made up for the story. This story was a nice little eye opener to the ways of the Amish, I will admit I'm still only new to the actual reading of books centered around them. But lately I've been really interested in learning more. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author and series, can not wait to see what happens with Annie and Rufus. View all my reviews
