A Plain Death (Appleseed Creek Mystery #1) by Amanda Flower

Image
A Plain Death by Amanda Flower My rating: 3 of 5 stars When Chloe moved to Appleseed Creak to start her new job at the local college she didn't once think she was going to be dropped in to the middle of a murder mystery. The weapon being her car. Who would ever think that by helping an Amish girl on the side of the road would turn into so much craziness. The Amish are suppose to be a simple people right? Well there is nothing simple about this story. A Plain Death is a murder mystery with many twist and turns. A potential love story in the making as well. I enjoy the story, but I never loved it. It was an alright quick read. I felt like there was somethings lacking, and there where too many players involved. But it was enjoyable enough to want to read the next book in the series. I've read a few Amish books now and those more so center around those living with in the church not those who have left the community, so it was interesting to read something from that side...

A Taylor-Made Life by Kary Rader My rating: 3.5 of 5 stars *Copy given in exchange for an honest review* Taylor is a seventeen year old girl, a cheerleader who likes to play online video games. She is also a seventeen year old girl who is dying from leukemia. One of her biggest concerns is dying a virgin. Gavin at the age of 25 is very successful video game creator who runs his own company. He is also dying, he has melanoma. He wants to find someone to marry, he wants someone to miss him when he's gone. Through the cancer mentor program the two meet, the attraction is immediate. But she's only seventeen and time isn't on there side, will both be happy with just friendship?  So what did I think? That's a good question, because I'm unsure how to rate this book. I laughed, I smiled, and I cried. So one would think okay well then you obviously enjoyed the book. And yes I did like it but, on top of the laughing, smiling and crying I went 'hmmm I'...

In Plain View (Valley of Choice #2) by Olivia Newport

Image
In Plain View by Olivia Newport My rating: 3 of 5 stars In Plain View takes up a few months after Accidentally Amish ends. We have Annie living a simple life trying to decide if becoming Amish is for her, or if she is just wanting to do so because of her love for Rufus. Facing the temptations of her former life. And like the first book, the story is split in the past as we follow the lives of the Byler family as they are faced with the Revolutionary War. We also have a little bit of a mystery to uncover, as in the first. Along with other love interests for Rufus making an appearance. I have to admit, as much as I liked book 2 of the Valley of Choice series, I preferred the first book. View all my reviews

Romancing the Bookworm by Kate Evangelista

Romancing the Bookworm by Kate Evangelista My rating: 3 of 5 stars *This copy was given in exchange for an honest review, and may contain spoilers* Tammara, would rather spend her time reading rather then going out and being social. In fact some days she can finish 3 novels. It's her escape. Books don't cause her pain, they are always there for her when she needs them.   This is why I'd rather read! Real people come with too much bullshit . Ronni, her best friend decides it's time Tammara gets her nose out of her books and starts living at little. And now is the perfect time to do it, spring break. So being the best friend that she is she convinces Tamara, to spend spring break with her in  Maverick Bay. And it just so happens that the Maverick's Surf Invitational, takes place at the same time. A surfing competition that is organized by a fellow college student, Xavier, who's had his eye on Tammara for a few weeks now. An eye that she's never ...

A Shimmer of Angels (Angel Sight, #1) by Lisa M. Basso

Image
A Shimmer of Angels by Lisa M. Basso My rating: 4 of 5 stars *Warning spoilers ahead* Ray isn't a normal teenage girl, even though she so desperately wants to be. How normal can you be when you see angels? Or at least you think you do, who knows really after spending three years locked up inside a mental institution. She's starting fresh now, new school, new state, she hasn't seen an angel in forever. Maybe she can finally have a normal life. Until she meets Cam, the new student. Not only is she thinking she's slipping, students are starting to die, by their own hands. Or is something or someone behind it all? This series has a lot of potential, and I mean a lot. We have fallen angels, good vs evil, what probably be a love triangle, but besides that we have a well written young adult novel. The author has done a great job at making a interesting story. I haven't read many books about angels, normally I read vampires, witches, werewolves, etc. I think I mig...
