How to Seduce a Scot by Christy English My rating: 4 of 5 stars I received an ARC of "How to Seduce a Scot" via Netgalley. I haven't been reading historical romance lately, it has be quite some time actually. So when I started reading "How to Seduce a Scot" by Christy English I was rather happy that I decided to dip back into this genre. Catherine needs to find a husband before the season is out. She has one chance at finding a suitable one to help her and her mother and her younger sister. After the death of her father, 5 years previous, money is growing slim, so one season to make a match is all she has. Not having much luck at the start, Catherine finds herself torn between two men. A gentle Englishman who is caring and kind and a handsome Scotsman who makes her feel safe and comfortable yet brings a blush to her face whenever he looks at her. Who does she chose? Does she follow her heart or her honor? I found it to be a delightful and humorous...

5 Stars #book #review Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng

Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng My rating: 5 of 5 stars This is one of those books that once it is finished all you can think is wow. It leaves you with a tightness in your chest. It makes you think. Makes you realize that you never really know a person, you never truly can understand what things are like what they ate thinking. This is the kind of book that makes you wonder about all the lives you know and interact with those close to you that you think you know them so well, when in fact that have secrets, thoughts, words left unspoken. You know this because you yourself have things you have never said aloud, private thoughts, your hopes, your fears, your dreams who you are and who you show the world depending on the situation. This is the kind of book that is powerful. View all my reviews

Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley My rating: 4 of 5 stars Words? Words? I do not have the words to discribe my thoughts and feelings for this book. Wow just wow. Magonia is unlike anything I have read before, it was like a breath of fresh air ( no pun intended). Magical adventure with pirates and bird people, sadness and despair, love, loyalty and betrayal. Just a wonderful fantastical story that hit me in the heart. View all my reviews

#booktour #review At Water's Edge by S. McPherson

Image
At Water's Edge by S. McPherson: Rating: 4 of 5 stars Every wonder if there was another "you" out there, another world? A world you can travel to by portals. Dezaray and Lexovia look almost exactly a like, yet they are from two different dimensions. They are each others counterparts, one from the world as we know it. The other, Lex is from a magical world filled with dwarves, vampires and other magical creatures. I find that this is the kind of book that you can't speak much about because by doing so it will spoil it for those wishing to read it. I can say however that if you are looking for an exciting magical and action filled book, with a love story to neatly tie it all together, the look no further then "At Water's Edge". But on top of the magic, portals, dimensions and the love story there is a darker side to the story, abuse. I'm only informing you all of this just incase it is something the reader avoids or uncomfortable re...

#Review: Xavier: St Griswold College for Abandoned Boys by E.M. Cooper

Image
Xavier: St Griswold College for Abandoned Boys by E.M. Cooper My rating: 4 of 5 stars I was given an e-copy for review. Not everything and everyone are what they seem to be at St. Griswold College for Abandoned Boys. The School it's self is surrounded by a great forest which contain creatures or things that will cause harm to those that venture into it. The teachers themselves are not friendly and appear to be sinister. Once you are sent there you are unable to leave, when you are there long enough your soul won't let you. So why did Xavier's parents bring him? Why did they leave them there? With the help of his friends Gabe and Ethan they hope to escape and find his parents, to find out why the place and people are the way they are. And to hopefully help those children and others who have no way of helping themselves. The only question is, who can you trust? I rather enjoyed this book, it was well written and entertaining. The "first strike" was a l...

Am I Pretty? by Lindsey Jensen Berke

Image
Am I Pretty? by Lindsey Jensen Berke My rating: 4 of 5 stars Am I Pretty? is a wonderful book for small children to read themselves or have read to them. With easy to understand words and sentences. The message is also very important for children and even adults, you are great just the way you are and if people can't accept you for who you are then perhaps you should find others who will. It is especially good for young girl to read, showing them that there is more to them then just looks. That they can be strong, kind, smart and independent. View all my reviews

#booktour #review Those Children Are Ours by David Burnett

Image
Those Children Are Ours by David   Burnett My rating: 4 of 5 stars It's been twelve years since Jennie has seen her two daughters, walking out on them and her husband in a drunken fit of rage. Now after all this time she wants them back in her life, she wants to know them and them her. Jennie at the time of her marriage was unstable, drinking and sleeping around. Being neglectful of her children, caring only about herself. After befriending a preacher who frequented the bar/restaurant in which she was working started to take a long on hard look at herself and began to make the change to her life. Sobering up, going back to school and getting her masters. Attending church, giving up on men and seeking help for her issues. So many years have gone by will her daughters even want to see her? How will they react? Those Children Are Ours is a very touchy book, with many triggers that could upset its reader. We have a main character that you feel for, yet you can hate at the ...
